Los Angeles, CA – January 29, 2001 – Martha C. de la Torre, publisher of El Clasificado, has been selected to be inducted in the Hall of Fame of the National Association of Women Business Owners. The announcement will be made official at the awards of March 9, 2001 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
De la Torre founded El Clasificado in 1988. The publication now has a circulation of 120,000 making it one of the nation’s largest free Spanish weekly publications. Last year, she was recognized by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as the Hispanic Business Woman of the Year. At the same time, El Clasificado received the Best Classified Publication Award by the National Association of Hispanic Publications.
“These recognitions reflect the hard work that many people who made El Clasificado what it is today,” says de la Torre.
The publication, which blends classified advertising with consumer friendly editorial, reaches the Hispanic market throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. It will be available in Ventura and San Diego counties by next year.
